747-400 Standard Operating Procedures

The endeavour of the manufacturer, as a seller, is to present the customer with an efficient means of commercial transportation, not complicated, in terms of maintenance or flight operations. Therefore the manufacturer usually presents the minimum procedures required by an experienced and trained crew. However, in practice, we have to supplement the manufacturer’s recommended procedure and adapt it to our environment.

The Air India Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are designed to streamline operational procedures. They provide the crew with a step-by-step guidance for carrying out their tasks in a safe & predictable manner.

These SOPs clarify line procedures, but do not replace the information contained in the Airplane Flight Manual and such documents. The SOPs should not be over-shadowed by inter personal relations or other peripheral issues which tend to affect the safe conduct of a flight.

747-400 Aircraft Operations Manual First Edition

Welcome to the Delta Virtual Airlines’ Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM) for the Boeing 747-400.

The AOM is based upon the DVA Fleet Installer. We are always seeking to improve the accuracy of the AOM.

Should you have questions about the specifics of this airplane or this manual, you should create a Help Desk issue at our website, www.deltava.org.

Should you have questions about aviation in general, creating a Help Desk issue is the best course of action to take. The training department and Flight Academy personnel will do their best to answer your questions.

If you are new to flying and would like to learn training that is modeled after real world training, you can sign up for flight instruction in the DVA Flight Academy.

A350 XWB – Training for the Future

  • Technology of the A350 will not be the main driver in the new training concept.
  • Feedback and experience from the A380 will be used to improve existing training concept.
  • Availability of new technology in the training media is an important element.
  • Industry efforts on training will be implemented.
  • Customers and authorities will be part of the whole conception process.

A310 Flight Deck and Systems Briefing for Pilots

The A310 takes advantages of extensively proven technology and widebody, twin-engine configuration to provide airlines with 200-seat aircraft which is equaly at home on short/medium or extended ranges.

A high technology level in all areas contributes to the effectiveness of the A310. This is particularly evident in the advanced flight deck, systems monitoring, together with innovations in structure and aerodynamics.

Two versions are avaliable: the basic A310-200 and the extended range A310-300. Each is avaliable in all-passenger and passenger/freight convertible form (A130C) . This family of aircraft, complemented by the larger A300-600, combines widebody versatility, twin-engine cost-efectiveness and performance capability, to create a firm basis for profitable operations.

A310 Systems & Miscellaneous

make an avatar

The A310 is available in two basic versions, the medium range −200 and the longer range −300. The first version of the aircraft to be developed was the −200 but this was later joined by the −300 which then became the standard production version of the aircraft.

A310-200

The first A310, the 162nd Airbus off the production line, made its maiden flight on 3 April 1982 powered by the earlier Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7R4D1 engines. The −200 entered service with Swissair and Lufthansa a year later. Also the late series −200 also featured wingfences just like the −300.

A310-200C

A convertible version, the seats can be removed and cargo placed on the main deck.

A310-200F

The freight version available as a new build or as a conversion of the existing wide-bodied aircraft. The A310-200F freighter has the capacity to carry 39t of freight over a distance up to 5,950 km.

A310-300

First flown on 8 July 1985, the −300 is dimensionally identical to the −200 except for the provision of increased MTOW and an increase in range, provided by additional centre and horizontal stabilizer (trim-tank) fuel tanks. This model also introduced wingtip fences to improve aerodynamic efficiency, a feature that has since been retrofitted to some −200s. The aircraft entered service in 1986, again with Swissair. The aircraft is also provided with a computerised fuel distribution system which allows it to be trimmed in flight resulting in less drag and therefore reduced fuel burn.

No production freighters of the A310 were produced. Operators such as FedEx Express instead adapt ex-airline A310s into freighters, most have been the −300 version. They are now the world's largest operator of A310's with 53 aircraft.

A310-300C

A convertible passenger/cargo version, the seats can be removed and cargo placed on the main deck.

A310 MRT/MRTT

The A310 has been operated by many of the world's airforces as a pure transport (A310-300 MRT), however several have now been converted to the "Multi Role Tanker Transport" configuration by EADS, providing an aerial refueling capability. At least six have been ordered; four by the German Luftwaffe and two by the Canadian Forces. Deliveries began in 2004. Three were converted at EADS EFW in Dresden, Germany; the other three at Lufthansa Technik in Hamburg, Germany. The Chilean Air Force has purchased two second-hand A310s to replace its ageing 707–320 'Aguila' tanker and transports. The first was received in October 2007.

377 Stratocruiser Boeing Pilot´s Handbook

The A2A Wings of Silver Stratocruiser is unlike any aircraft you have flown in Microsoft Flight Simulator. From the very beginning we here on the A2A team knew that this aircraft was something special, not just in look and design, but in the way the team came together over what initially we believed was quite an odd yet large aircraft.
Many in the team initially had never heard of the Stratocruiser, and many of us also agreed at how odd the “double bubble” shape looked. As time went on, we began to realize the special place the Stratocruiser holds in history, and just how influential it is to today's modern airliners. Many features first realized in the Stratocruiser have become the standard for nearly all commercial aircraft built to date.
In a way, the Stratocruiser is a representation of A2A's dedication at creating the most realistic simulation possible of such an amazing and important aircraft. A2A has crafted and pioneered many new technologies for this aircraft which is the first release and flagship in the Wings of Silver flight simulation line of software simulations for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Never before has the team worked so diligently to produce what we feel is the most accurate simulator of a
true “classic” airliner.
Please take a look at some of the new features listed below and take the time to experience every one of them in the simulator. We feel confident that you, like us, will agree that the A2A Wings of Silver Stratocruiser is indeed an amazing aircraft.

BAe 146 Panel v4.0 FS2004

This new version contents now all working systems like electric, hydraulic, fuel, pressurization and many other. Those systems based very close on the real BAe 146 systems and were programmed close to the manual and with the information and description of real world pilots. Version 4.0 contents now a full working TMS (thrust Modulation System), and all modes of the AFGS (Automatic Flight Guidance System), including AP SYNC. Completely new is the possibility now to save the complete cockpit state. A 160 pages manual which is necessary to handle all the complex functions is included together with a set of flight dynamics for all available models to bring them to work with the panel.
